The Mission for the Tribal Historic Preservation Office (THPO) of the Round Valley Indian Tribes is to preserve, maintain, and revitalize the culture and traditions of the Round Valley Reservation.
The THPO assumes many responsibilities of the California State Historic Preservation Office - to ensure the identification, protection, and preservation of archaeological and historic sites within the boundaries of the Round Valley Reservation and on lands throughout our traditional territories and ancestral homelands.
A critical mission of the THPO is to participate in the mandated procedures of the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA) to allow:
The overarching mission of the THPO is to help meet the cultural preservation needs as voiced by the members of the Round Valley Reservation.
The program is located at 77826 Covelo Road, Covelo, California on the Round Valley Indian Reservation.
Monday through Thursday: 8:30 am to 4:30 pm; excluding Holidays and Tribal Administrative Leave.
